Impact modifier

Chlorinated Polyethylene Resin CPE

As an excellent impact modifier, chlorinated polyethylene thermoplastic resin is widely used in PVC extrusion and injection melding products, including profiles, pipes, sheets and fittings. The addition of a small amount of CPE resin can greatly enhance the impact resistance of rigid PVC and improve its processing fluidity. In addition, due to its good chemical resistance, outstanding low-temperature performance, high filling capacity, excellent weather resistance and remarkable compatibility, CPE resin is used in a wider range of formulation systems.

Application fields

  • CPE is currently the most widely used and most economical impact modifier in the PVC profile industry.
  • CPE resin is able to improve the impact resistance and aging properties of PVC pipes significantly. CPE is especially widely used in large-diameter pressure-resistant liquid conveying pipes to improve its pressure bearing performance and extend its service life.
  • CPE is blended with PVC to produce soft products, CPE acts as a permanent polymer plasticizer for PVC to avoid the migration of general plasticizers (such as DOP) .
  • CPE resin is also used as a modifier and compatibilizer in flame retardant ABS, SAN, HDPE and PP materials to improve their impact resistance and flame retardancy.
  • CPE resin is also used in the sole industry due to its good wear resistance and flex resistance.
